House fire in Berlin claims life of one
BERLIN, Md. – Worcester County Fire Marshals are investigating a fatal house fire that happened in Berlin Sunday evening.
We’re told the fire broke out shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, at a house in the 10000 block of Trappe Road. Volunteer Fire Companies from Berlin, Showell, Bishopville, Ocean Pines, Ocean City, and Newark responded to the blaze, which was placed under control at around 7:30 p.m.
An 81-year-old female resident was taken to Atlantic General Hospital where she later died. Her identity has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
