Health insurance experts offer advice ahead of ACA enrollment deadline

MILFORD, Del. – Attention procrastinators: If you haven’t already, you’ve got just two days left to sign up for health insurance for next year. The deadline to enroll in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act marketplace ends On December 15th. The annual open enrollment period is a time for people who buy individual health plans, as opposed to getting insurance through an employer. Experts say if you miss the deadline you could be stuck paying a pretty expensive bill for any medical services you receive. Which is why they say you should get covered now or you may be sorry, later.

“If you don’t do it you may be left without insurance and you may not have an opportunity to enroll in insurance at all for the entire year. The medical prices and expenses are escalating every year and you’re going to be forced to have to pay for all your medical costs,” said Select Financial Group President, Drew Sammons.

Experts say the only way you can enroll after December 15th is if there is a special life circumstance.
