Gulls stifled by Muhlenberg, fall in NCAA quarterfinal

SALISBURY, Md- The Salisbury football team’s undefeated 2019 ride came to an end on Saturday afternoon, with the Gulls falling 24-8 to Muhlenberg College.

SU would fall behind 17-0 in the first half, behind two touchdown passes from Mules quarterback Mike Hnatkowsky. Hnatkowsky finished the game 24-38 for 264 yards and three touchdowns, against one interception.

Salisbury’s offense would struggle mightily against a tough Mules defense, the Gulls averaged just 2.9 yards per play for the entire game. The Gulls offense managed a season-low 166 total yards of offense in the contest.

Salisbury finishes the year with an 11-1 overall record, and should finish inside the national top 10 after one of the best season’s in school history.
