Fruitland man confesses to sexually abusing child

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Some disturbing news is surfacing out of Wicomico County. On Monday, 47 ABC learned about a Fruitland man who confessed to molesting a child.

Aubrey Pusey is now behind bars. The 61-year-old was arrested Wednesday after confessing to sexually abusing a child. Police say his victim told her therapist she wasn’t going to Pusey’s home for the holidays because he “did some messed up things” to her when she was younger.

While being interviewed by a detective, Pusey told police the same story his alleged victim reported. The Fruitland man says he violated the child about five times between the years 2012 and 2014. The crimes allegedly took place at Pusey’s home on Gurney Drive when the alleged victim was 10 to 12-years-old.

Pusey faces a total of 24 charges including sex abuse of a minor, sex offense second, third and fourth degree as well as second degree assault. Pusey is being held without bond and his next hearing is set for January 16th.

Peninsula Regional Medical Center confirms that Pusey is an employee at the hospital and they are aware he was arrested on Wednesday. However, Pusey is now on administrative leave while the investigation continues, which is their policy. PRMC tells 47 ABC Pusey’s position at PRMC does not require him to have contact with patients or visitors. You can read PRMC’s full statement below:
