Four Wicomico County sheriffs receive Medal of Valor
SALISBURY, Md. – Four Wicomico County sheriff’s deputies were honored on Tuesday for their bravery and their heroic actions.
Deputies Howard Bowden, Ben Parsons, Christian Pecoraco, and Dylan Miller were each awarded a proclamation and the National Sheriff’s Association Medal of Valor.
Two of the deputies were honored after responding to a stabbing in Salisbury, and the other two were honored for their actions that saved a person’s life after a serious car accident.
Sheriff Mike Lewis awarded the medals and says that even though his deputies work hard every day, these four men deserved the awards for their life-saving actions.
“Last year, like any other year, was a very busy year for us, but there are two particular instances that stand out which caused us to petition the National Sheriffs Association for the efforts of four Wicomico County sheriffs deputies here in Wicomico County,” Sheriff Lewis said.
Sheriff Lewis also honored Tammy Croswell from the emergency management team for her dedication and service.
