DELMAR, Md. – Police say a drug investigation led to two arrests on multiple charges late last week.

We’re told the investigation led to a traffic stop of a Volkswagen Tiguon being driven by 28-year-old Jarell Rodriguez near the intersection of E East Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Delmar. After a K-9 scan of the vehicle led to a positive alert for the presence of drugs, a search was conducted, leading to the discovery of 1,473 bags of heroin (approx. 11 logs or 4.5 sticks of heroin).

A follow up search and seizure warrant was executed in the 1100 block of Magnolia Drive in Seaford, resulting in the discovery of an additional 13.5 “sticks” or 33.75 logs of heroin, coming to a total of 4,225 bags of heroin being seized from the residence. An amount of cocaine and other items indicative of distribution were also found.

This investigation led to the seizure of a total of 5,874 bags of heroin. Jarell Rodriguez and his passenger, 28-year-old Dajana Rodriguez, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics (heroin) and possession not marijuana (heroin). We’re told charges are pending in Delaware for both subjects.
