Dover man charged with robbery and assault
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Dover man over the weekend on robbery and assault charges.
At around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, troopers were called to the Rose Spa on S. DuPont Highway for a reported robbery. A 45-year-old female employee told police that a subject had received a service and then asked for his money back, forcing the employee to turn over cash. The suspect then reportedly hit the employee several times, injuring her. He then obtained an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
The employee was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released for her injuries.
Through investigation, police identified the suspect as 25-year-old Kampta Sharma Jr. Sharma was arrested at his residence in the 500 block of Stone Drive on Monday. He was charged with second degree robbery and third degree assault, and is currently being held at SCI on $6,000 cash only bond.
