Dover company participates in “No Hunger Holidays”
DOVER, Del. – A Dover business got into the spirit of giving on Thursday by helping hand out hundreds of boxes of free food and hygiene products to families in need.
Volunteers with Edgewell Personal Care spent a few hours distributing boxes. It was all a part of a partnership they have called No Hunger Holidays with the Greater Dover Boys and Girls Club as well as Feed the Children. Families who benefited received tickets through the Boys and Girls Club and then picked up their items on Thursday. It’s the sixth year the company has done this for the community and volunteers say they love participating.
“I do it because I know people are in need and this is a great way to give to the local community. Also to see the smiles on kids faces when they come ups tie their parents to get the boxes of food it’s well worth it,” Arlen Lewis with Edgewell Personal Care.
There were 12-hundred boxes total. Each family gets three boxes with a total of 400 families benefiting. Any boxes left over were brought back to the Boys and Girls club to be distributed there. Edgewell says they hope to continue this for years to come.
