Winterfest of Lights set to open with a new look

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Set up is almost complete for the annual Winterfest of Lights in Ocean City.

This year, the event has a bit of a new look. Most notably, the main display in the tent was changed out this year. On top of that, we’re told organizers are working with new vendors this year like Nick’s Mini Golf and Candy Kitchen to give families the ultimate experience.

As usual, there will be new Instagram hot-spots set up all over the event space so you can capture memories with your loved ones.

As for the actual tram ride, we’re told that will be pretty much the same as it always is but the sound quality on that ride will be better this year.

It will cost you a few bucks to enjoy all of this, but on opening night, which takes place next week, you can enjoy the holiday festivities for free.

Brenda Moore, the Special Event Coordinator for Ocean City said, “The OC Stars from OC Elementary will get us started with some music and then the kids and the mayor will flip the switch and then the whole park will light up Santa will come to town and we will officially be open from that date through New Years and all the rides are free that night.”

Opening night will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at Northside Park on 127th Street.
