UMES is having “A Salute Our Veteran’s Gala”
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — 47 ABC’s Erica Murphy was joined on the desk by Craig Thomas and Paris Johnson, two students from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Paris and Craig were here to talk about an upcoming gala that will honor current and former members of our country’s military.
UMES is partnering with the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce to salute military veterans with a gourmet meal prepared by university hospitality and tourism management students.
The UMES “A Salute To Our Veteran’s Gala” will be held Friday, November 8th at 6:00 PM at Richard A. Henson Center on the university’s campus.
The Hospitality & Tourism Management students will be putting on the event, and Paris and Craig tells us that a four-course meal for attendees. With a cocktail hour as well.
Gourmet dishes like crab and spinach, chicken parcel and a palate pleasing baked Alaska with raspberry sauce will be on the menu and served to our veteran’s and all those who attend.
Tickets cost 50 dollars, with all proceeds going toward the silver star scholarship fund. A fund that provides financial support for eligible first-year and transfer students who are veterans or a child of a member of the military.
