Spotlight on Native American Heritage Day

47 ABC – A holiday that many people may not know about is Native American Heritage Day. That’s because it falls on the more well known day of Black Friday.

The Native American Heritage Day Resolution was signed into law in 2009. It designates the Friday after Thanksgiving as Native American Heritage Day. The resolution had unanimous support in the House of Representatives and Senate. The hope is that it will encourage people to learn about the culture, traditions, history and contributions of natives to the United States and the world.
