Princess Anne celebrates Small Business Saturday

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – On Saturday, small businesses across Delmarva took center stage as part of Small Business Saturday.

In Princess Anne, the community celebrated their mom and pop stores with a ribbon cutting for the new Squeaky’s Cafe.

The new cafe offers all sorts of desserts, and of course, some delicious coffee.

Members of the Princess Anne Chamber of Commerce say small businesses make a huge positive impact on the community.

They say these businesses help to revitalize the town.

So, people tell 47ABC, everyone should support small business.

“We pick out our items very carefully thinking about our customers and it’s unique pieces, unique items, so if you like different, you should shop local,” said Orlena Wilkes, co-owner at Squeaky’s Cafe.

“You’re helping your neighbors, you’re helping families who live here, families who own businesses,” said Main Street Princess Anne Manager, Carrie Samis.

“You get to know the people who own those businesses,” said Samis.

To celebrate Small Business Saturday, small businesses offered discounts, free goodies, among other things.
