Millsboro man arrested on several burglary and theft charges

HARBESON/MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Millsboro man Sunday afternoon in connection to multiple burglaries.

Troopers began investigating a rash of burglaries in the Millsboro and Harbeson areas in early November. Investigation led police to identify 33-year-old Thomas Mills Jr. as the suspect, obtaining warrants in connection with four burglaries. Several attempts were made to arrest Mills, in which he resisted arrest and fled. It was also learned that he was violating a no contact order with his girlfriend.

At around noon Sunday, troopers responded to Mills’ residence in the 23000 block of Hedley’s Way to try to locate him. Mills’ girlfriend gave troopers consent to search the residence, finding Mills hiding inside. He was subsequently taken in custody.

Mills was charged with second degree burglary, two counts of attempt to commit burglary third degree, three counts of resisting arrest, driving while suspended or revoked, four counts of breach of release, three counts of criminal trespass, third degree burglary, three counts of possession of burglar tools, four counts of theft, two counts of attempt to commit theft, two counts of criminal mischief, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is currently being held at SCI on $40,252 secured bond.
