Locals hosting free Thanksgiving meal, asking for donations

SALISBURY, Md. – A group of locals is getting ready to serve up a hot thanksgiving meal to people experiencing homelessness and they’re asking for the community’s help.

The organization, known as Carvis’ Angels, is hosting a Thanksgiving meal at Americas Best Value Inn in Salisbury. They plan on feeding up to 200 people at the dinner but organizers say they want to make this a year round initiative because homelessness is always prevalent in the community.

“We hope to be a support system, a good support system, for people who fall down on their luck are experiencing hard times and really actively trying to get back on their feet and sometimes you just need a helping hand from other people,” says Antoine Deshields with Carvis’ Angels.

The Friendsgiving event will take place on Saturday, November 23rd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Americas Best Value Inn in Salisbury.

For more information about how to get a free meal, volunteer or donate contact Candice Lespinasse at 443-454-1724.
