Georgetown man arrested on 5th DUI
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Georgetown man Saturday afternoon on his 5th DUI charge.
According to police, at around 12:30 p.m., troopers were called to a restaurant at 18585 Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach for a welfare check. It was reported that a man drove his vehicle to the restaurant and was nodding off in and out of consciousness after sitting down and ordering food.
When troopers arrived, they found the man slumped over and noticed a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He was initially unresponsive but after several attempts police were able to wake him up and identify him as 52-year-old Christopher Goff of Georgetown. He showed multiple signs of impairment and a computer check revealed that he had four previous DUI convictions.
Goff was arrested and charged with 5th offense DUI (felony). He was held at SCI on $6,000 secured bond.
