First State Animal Center hosts adoption event

CAMDEN, Del. – Some furry friends are spending their first night with their forever family on Saturday night.

The First State Animal Center and SPCA held an adoption event on Friday at Pet Valu in Camden, all in the hopes of letting families meet the pets searching for homes.

The Animal Center tells 47 ABC this is the perfect chance to get the animals out of the shelter and make them more visible to the public.

That, hopefully, means more adoptions.

“Some people are nervous or sad to come into the shelter so when they out of public, their true character shows,” Lucinda Kitching, with the Animal Center, said.

If you weren’t able to make it to Pet Valu on Saturday, don’t worry, First State Animal Center says they’re there every second Saturday of every month.
