Dover coasts past CR behind Peace’s big day
CAMDEN, Del.- Behind five touchdowns from Javon Peace, the Dover Senators defeated the Caesar Rodney Riders 54-22 to close out the regular season. The Senators finish the season with a 6-4 record and a strong chance of making the DIAA tournament. The Riders finish the season with a 3-7.
It was all Dover from the start. On the first CR drive, the Senator defense forced a fumble and the offense took advantage. Five plays, five runs with Javon Peace and one touchdown from three yards out to take the 7-0 lead. The Senators would force a CR three and out on the next drive and again the offense would capitalize. This time Qualeak Brumbley would get in for the score. Dover would score two touchdowns in the final fifteen seconds of the first quarter to take the 28-0 lead at the half.
The Senators would go on to win 54-22, Javon Peace finished the game with 180 yards and five touchdowns.
