Dog park could soon be coming to Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – The Town of Millsboro could soon be getting it’s very first dog park.

Right now, the town is looking to build the dog park on a property that’s located right across from the Town Hall off Wilson Highway.

Originally, the town considered two other sites: one on Route 24 and one on Route 20, but the problem with those sites is the town would have had to get state approval, which wouldn’t be as cost effective.

The town plans on building an area for small dogs to play in as well as an area for larger dogs to play in and we’re told fencing could start going up in just a few months.

Millsboro Town Manager Sheldon Hudson said, “So we’re hoping in the next few months we’ll start to see some construction. We’re in the process now of getting some pricing for a small dog park and a large dog park for the larger dogs basically on the property behind me so we’re certainly excited about this this is something that has been in the works for a while now.”

The town says they have allotted $100,000 in their budget for the construction of this dog park.
