WiHi scores early and often in blowout of Decatur

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico High School scored a big win over the Stephen Decatur Seahawks under the lights Thursday, 57-7.

Stephaun Harris opened the scoring in the opening minutes for WiHi with a run from midfield.

Decatur had a hard time keeping a grip on the football, with three fumbles in the first quarter, one of which was returned by Joshua Shockley 80 yards for a second Indian touchdown.

WiHi quarterback Andre Matthews proved to be a dual-threat all night. A 41-yard run from Matthews on the next Wicomico drive set up a short run into the end zone for Harris.

As the clock hit zero on the first quarter, Matthews would plunge over the goal line to cap off a 28-point first.

Matthews would close the half with two long touchdown passes to Shockley and Xavion Hardy, running the score to 42-0.

WiHi (3-4) will head to Easton to play the Warriors Thursday at 6:30 PM. Decatur (2-5) will return home to play Parkside Friday at 6 PM.
