Washington outlasts Pocomoke in regional thriller

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Washington Jaguars and Pocomoke Warriors went the distance in their 1A East Regional game.

Washington held on to defeat Pocomoke 3-1 in penalty strokes to move on in the 1A playoffs.

Pocomoke got on the board in the first half after a ball was pushed in the circle and finally the rebound was pushed into the cage by Brooke Bodley. Washington answered shortly after with a strike from Olivia Courtney to tied the game up.

The two teams would remain scoreless through the second half and through both overtime periods, so we would go to penalty strokes where the Jags secured the 3-1 win.
