Two arrested on drugs, weapons charges related to gang participation

DOVER, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested two people on Thursday following the execution of a search warrant at their residence.

Officials say the search warrant was part of a drug dealing and gang participation investigation involving the distribution of marijuana and illegal possession of firearms at a residence in the unit block of Harmony Hill Lane. On arrival, police located 22-year-old Jawuan Horsey and 19-year-old Rayquian Horsey and took them into custody.

A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of the following:

  • Approximately 9,979 grams of marijuana (approx. 22 pounds)
  • Smith & Wesston .40 caliber handgun
  • Taurus .40 caliber handgun
  • 278 rounds of .22 caliber handgun ammunition
  • 61 rounds of .40 caliber handgun ammunition
  • 32 rounds of .45 caliber handgun ammunition
  • 4 rounds of 9mm handgun ammunition
  • 24 rounds of .380 caliber handgun ammunition
  • Drug paraphernalia

Jawuan and Rayquian were both charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule 2 controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 5 quantity, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, illegal gang participation, conspiracy second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rayquian was also charged with possession of ammunition by a person prohibited.

Jawuan was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $107,500 secured bond, while Rayquian was committed on a $114,500 secured bond.
