Third Suspect Arrested in Ellendale Shooting

LINCOLN, Del. – A man wanted for a shooting in June is under arrest in Delaware.

Joshua Wright of Milford was taken into custody Friday afternoon after troopers stopped a vehicle that he was a passenger in on North Old State Road in Lincoln.

Police say when they initiated the stop, they immediately recognized Wright as being wanted in connection with that June shooting in Ellendale. That shooting happened on June 1 around 1:00 a.m. at the Gateway Tavern on DuPont Boulevard. The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.

When police arrested Wright, they say they also found a sock that was thrown from the vehicle that contained 47.7 grams of crack and powdered cocaine.

Inside the car, troopers say they found more than $2,000 in cash and 421.9 grams of marijuana.

Wright is now charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, assault of the 3rd degree, and more, in relation to the June shooting.

Police also arrested the driver of that vehicle, Tevin Dorsey.
