Third Annual Eastern Shore Classic Dog Show Art Contest

SALISBURY, Md. — On the desk this morning, 47 ABC’s Erica Murphy sat down with Jerry Milko, who was here on Good Morning Delmarva to talk about the upcoming third annual Eastern Shore Classic Dog Show Art Contest.

The art contest is a branch off from the Eastern Shore Classic Dog Show, which is being held at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center from November 6th – 10th.

The event is a cooperative effort of the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club & Charitable Trust, The Talbot Kennel Club and The Mispillion Kennel Club.

Jerry, who is the event chairmen, says kids from kindergarten to the 12th grade will be able to give their artistic impressions of dogs, who are our best friends. Now this is a competition, so kids, put your best foot forward.

Prizes ribbons are awarded first through fourth prize and each first place student winner receives $25.00 and competes for Best in Show & Reserve Best in Show ribbons and cash awards.

There will be a chosen winner from each grade and those winners will compete for the best in show prize. Prizes ribbons are awarded first through fourth prize and each first place student winner receives $25.00 and competes for Best in Show & Reserve Best in Show ribbons and cash awards.

The second place winner or reserve best in show will receive and $250 cash prize. The top prize for best in show is a whopping $500. You heard that right anyone child in grades K-12. will walk away with $500 in cash.

Another great prize Jerry mentioned is ll student participants receive free entry to the show on Saturday, November 9th.

The student artwork is judged by a panel of esteemed eastern shore artists including Myrna McGrath, Denise DeMarco Crutchley, Sara Englund and our first year Best in Show Winner, Madison Brewington. The public also gets to participate by voting for their favorite work of student art on display with the winner receiving the People’s Choice Award.

Jerry says this is a 100% sponsored event and is no cost for students. Jerry also say the deadline is to submit your doggy artwork is Saturday, October 12th.
