The Delaware State Fair & Biggs Museum are presenting the 2nd Annual Great Delaware Pumpkin Carve
Harrington, Del. — This morning, 47 ABC’s Erica Murphy was joined on the desk by Danny Aguilar, who stopped by to talk about the upcoming 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carve event this weekend in Harrington, Delaware.
On Friday, October 18th, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 19th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Delaware State Fair and the Biggs Museum of American Art will be hosting the Pumpkin Carve event at the Delaware State Fair Quillen Arena.
Aguilar, who’s the assistant general manager & director of marketing, says they’ve partnered with the Biggs Museum and want to focus on the artistic side of Fall & pumpkins.
He says over 50 teams will be there to carve over 175 pumpkins, that are specifically grown for this special event.
Not only will there be pumpkin carving contests, there will also be the fan-favorites like costume contests, trick-or-treating, spooky sandcastles, and more.
There will also be a Pumpkin Trail, that will have over 50 new and creative pumpkins that will be on display.
Also, with Delaware being a state known for it’s agriculture, Aguilar says that the Delaware Dept. of Agriculture will be at the event to talk about growers and the pumpkin industry specifically in the state.
If you plan on attending the Pumpkin Carve, tickets are sold three different ways. You can purchase a ticket starting at $3 for kids, ages 6 to 12 and $5 for adults, ages 13 and up on Friday. Saturday, ticket prices start at $5 for kids and $10 dollars for adults. But, if you purchase your tickets in advance, you can purchase a weekend, two-day pass that’s $5 for kids and $10 for adults.
