Southern Delaware gets new clinic in Laurel

LAUREL, Del. – The first Haitian run health clinic in Sussex County opened it’s doors to the community in Laurel on Monday.

Members of the Western Sussex Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Tabitha Medical Care with a ribbon cutting.

The clinic offers preventive care including annual physicals and screening tests.

The owner says she believes opening this clinic was needed because of the language barrier many in the community face.

“Sometimes the resources are there, but because the language barrier is so great the people feel, they’ll feel comfortable to look for the help that they need,” said Nadya Julien, the owner of Tabitha Medical Care.

Members of Western Sussex Chamber of Commerce say they are excited to see more diversity among local businesses.
