Serious crash in Bridgeville claims life of one
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a serious crash that has turned fatal in Bridgeville.
At around 12:45 p.m. Sunday, a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling eastbound on Seashore Highway, east of Oak Road. When the Jetta attempted to make a U-turn, it was subsequently hit by a Dodge pickup truck.
A rear seat passenger in the Jetta, identified as 25-year-old Joao Ferraz from Rockville, MD, was initially taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital but was later transferred to Christiana Hospital. He died as a result of his injuries on Monday.
Police say four other people were seriously injured in the crash and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
