Salisbury officials learn how to build a ‘strong town’ with guest speaker

SALISBURY, Md. – On Thursday, Salisbury officials spent the evening learning how they improve the area financially. Author and founder of Strong Towns: A Bottom Up Revolution to Rebuild American Prosperity Carles Marohn hosted a community conversation to share his ideas on how to make Salisbury financially stronger. Marohn’s presentation showcased the importance of working from the ground up and investing in small projects to ensure the community is fiscally responsible.

“The best investments tend to be the stuff that builds on what we already have. How do we take the existing roads and streets, how do we take the existing pipes and actually squeeze more value out of it, get more out of it. When we do those things, it is a huge return on investment and not only that, it’s a huge improvement in the quality of life,” said Marohn.
