Parkside rolls Easton, gets fifth straight win
SALISBURY, Md.- Holding the Easton offense to just two touchdowns all game, the Parkside Rams get their fifth win of the season 31-14. The win boosts Parkside to 5-1 on the year while the loss drops Easton to 3-3.
After picking Ryan O’Connor off on the first drive (Eli Sellinger), the Rams took the ball down the field and took advantage. From inside the ten yard line, Makai Smiley ran around the defense and spun into the end zone to get the Parkside on the board. On the ensuing Warrior drive, Easton would tie it up. O’Connor got the offense inside the red zone and found Grant Copper in the back of the end zone for the score.
The second quarter would go scoreless as both defenses dominated. The Easton defense would get two clutch stops on fourth down to keep the Rams out of the end zone. The Parkside defense held the Warrior offense to just one first down into the fourth quarter.
In the third quarter, the Rams would take the opening drive to the end zone. Smiley powered his way in for the one yard score. The Rams would add on a Seth Carter field goal to make it a 17-7 game at the end of the third quarter. Parkside would get on the board again midway through the fourth, Malachi Jones bullied his way through at the goal line for six. A 24-7 lead for the Rams in the fourth.
The Easton offense would come alive in the fourth and get on the board to cut the lead to 24-14. O’Connor hit Copper again over the middle for their second score of the game. The Rams would put the game out of reach getting on the board one last time, Alijah Bivens took the handoff up the middle for a three yard touchdown as Parkside gets the 31-14 win.
The Rams return to action when they take host Kent Island next Friday. Easton looks to end their three game losing skid when they travel to Centerville to take on Queen Annes.
