Milford Police Department goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

MILFORD, Del. – Throughout the month of October, the Milford Police Department is going pink to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This year, the department is selling stuffed K-9’s that are decorated with their own pink patch for $20 a pop to help raise money for breast cancer research. They are also selling pink patches for $10, and hats and t-shirts for $20. All of the profits from sales will go directly towards the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.

The department says they were inspired to support this campaign after realizing how much breast cancer touches peoples lives.

Detective Timothy Maloney with the Milford Police Department said, “It’s been a passion for the police department for the last couple of years to support breast cancer awareness and to just continue to raise money for research and just to support people that are going through that battle right now and also for the survivors that have already been through it.”

If you would like to buy some of the Milford Police Department’s limited edition items, you can visit the police department Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., just remember to bring cash with you.
