Local woman promotes acts of kindness at Wicomico Co. schools

SALISBURY, Md. – A local woman is pushing efforts to spread more kindness in Wicomico County Public Schools.

The Salisbury Secretary of Kindness Grace Foxwell Murdock is asking schools to engage in more acts of kindness to inspire kids to give back to their community.

She has launched a new plan that encourages schools to add things like kindness clubs that give kids a chance to engage in community service.

She has also asked educators to post kindness signs around their schools to help raise awareness.

“What we want to do is reach out children because they are our hope for the future and that’s what kindness is,” said Murdock.

“It is hope and we want them to know how to extend it to their classmates, to their families and throughout our communities,” said Murdock.

Salisbury was selected as the first World Kindness USA City back in October and Murdock hopes more people in the community will buy in on being kind.
