Indian River HS collecting donations for Hurricane Dorian victims
DAGSBORO, Del. – Students at Indian River High School are stepping up efforts to help hurricane victims in the Bahamas and they are asking for the community’s help.
The students are part of the group called Health Occupation Students of America and they are asking the community to donate things like canned food and bottles of water, so they can ship them out to those in need.
So far, they already have 40 boxes filled with these items.
Students taking part say they were devastated after learning about Hurricane Dorian and they wanted to make a difference.
“For us especially since we are a coastal beach town if it were us in this position, which it has not been as severe thankfully if it were us we would want the same support,” said Logan Reese, a senior at Indian River High School.
If you are interested in helping these students out with their effort you are encouraged to drop off donations at the Indian River High School.
