Harrington first responders host annual night out

HARRINGTON, Del. – First responders spent their night on Thursday with the entire community, and it was all about building relationships.

It was the sixteenth annual First Responders Night Out, and first responders from the police department and fire department were out in big numbers.

The night was full of food, music, and tons of games, even a wrestling match.

Officials tell 47 ABC that this is one of the most fun events for them, where they get to just hangout with community members and make relationships between officials and citizens stronger.

“It’s good to get involved with the community, let them meet their officers, let them meet their first responders, that way they can know that we’re here to help any time that they need, we’re here for them and we always will be,” Norman Barlow, Chief of the Harrington Fire Company, said.

The fire department reiterates that whenever anyone needs them for any help, they can always reach out.
