Fundraiser to help honor memory of 9-year-old girl
OCEAN CITY, Md. – An Ocean View family is asking the public for help after their 9-year-old lost her battle to cancer weeks ago.
Aurora Miller passed away back in September after months of battling neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
Now the family is looking to honor Aurora’s memory with the dedication of a bench in Ocean City or possibly her favorite spot in New Jersey.
They are asking for 1,500 dollars to help make this dream a reality. So far, the family has received 500 dollars.
“We want people to remember Aurora,” said Denise Limmer, Aurora Miller’s grandmother.
“She wanted to be famous, she wanted to be a famous ice skater, well she can’t be an ice skater, so we want people to remember her, and we don’t want her to be forgotten,” said Limmer.
The family will be hosting a fundraiser at the Lewes Diner on Nov. 9 at 6 PM. They hope to continue their fundraising efforts with a yard sale on Nov. 16 at the Millville Fire Company.
