Funding for Ocean City Convention Center moves forward
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Town of Ocean City took another major step toward the expansion of its convention center.
On Wednesday, city officials celebrated approval by the Board of Public Works to move forward with plans for funding.
Earlier this year, lawmakers approved the project allowing the state to issue 24.5 million dollars in bonds for the expansion.
According to legislators, the expansion could bring in more than 600 jobs to the beach town as well as 60 million dollars for the state.
Groundbreaking on the center is expected to take place next year in April.
Construction is expected to be completed by December 2021.
