Applications open: Salvation Army holiday gift program

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Believe it or not, it’s already time to sign up for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

This program provides Wicomico County families, in need, with presents during the holiday season. The Salvation Army estimates they help almost 3,000 people every year in Wicomico County through this program. Officials say it’s a way to help people who may be struggling with different financial burdens during the holiday season.

“It’s also hard to manage a budget depending on their source of income. So we try to fill a gap that some agencies and other organizations can’t do. Salvation Army has had this program for well over 40 years and we’re just grateful we can maintain it and keep it every single year to help the Salisbury community and our service area,” says Captain Matthew Trantham with the Salvation Army.

Parents or guardians of children up to 14 years old, as of December 25, 2019, can apply. Families will also have to meet certain income guidelines. Only one application is needed and it covers all the children in the household.
