*A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Accomack and Northampton counties in Virginia, along with Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties in Maryland.*
Dorian’s effects enter Delmarva late tonight, bringing scattered showers and slightly breezy conditions. Lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s under overcast skies.
Dorian will be closest to Delmarva on Friday, which will bring tropical storm conditions to parts of the peninsula. Expect breezy to windy conditions along with some rain and perhaps a thunderstorm. Coastal flooding will likely be the biggest concern across low lying areas. Highs will be cool in the low to mid 70s. Winds will be strongest on the beach with gusts up to 50-60 mph, while inland areas will have gusts between 30-40 mph. Rainfall amounts will also be heaviest in areas south and east of Salisbury between 1-2 inches, while areas north and west of Salisbury won’t see much rain at all. Rain showers look to taper off pretty quickly as we progress through the afternoon.
Conditions improve as drier air settles in on Saturday. Expect sunny skies with temperatures around 80. The mostly sunny skies carry over into Sunday with slightly warmer temperatures in the low 80s.
Skies on Monday will be mostly cloudy with scattered afternoon storms and highs in the mid to upper 70s. A mix of sun and clouds is in the forecast for Tuesday as temperatures hover 80.
Warmer temperatures in the low to mid 80s along with mostly sunny skies take over on Wednesday with perhaps a late day storm. Thursday will be partly sunny with a chance for scattered showers or storms. Highs will be near 80.
