Tech shutout in matchup with Sallies

First time shutout all season

GEORGETOWN, Del. – The Sussex Tech Ravens boy’s soccer team was shutout for the first time this season after falling to Salesianum 3-0.

Tech hasn’t been shutout since game one of the playoffs last season, where they also fell to Salesianum 7-0. The Sallies got things started in the 16th minute a ball shuttled out of the box a few times but John Thomas was in the right place to blast a shot past the keeper to get the scoring going.

Facing an onslaught of shots but able to stand on his head and make a couple brilliant saves was goalie Jodi Johnson to keep Tech in this one and mitigate the Sallies damage as they would take a 1-0 lead headed into the half.

But in the second half–Sallies would keep rolling. Just 3 minutes into the half a shot ricocheted¬† around the box but Alexander Krumenacker is there to drive a shot toward the top for the goal.

A couple minutes later–more of the same story. Off the free kick Andrew Blackwell bends a shot toward the center of the net and it just gets past the fingertips of Johnson. Tech gets shutout for the first time this season with a final of 3-0
