Shorebirds hit 90-win mark before playoffs

SALISBURY, Md.- A season of re-writing the record books for the Delmarva Shorebirds.

The Birds not only clinched their first playoff appearance since 2005, but became the first South Atlantic League team to reach the 90-win mark in the last 13 years with their 9-5 win over Kannapolis on Monday.

Delmarva will open the SAL playoffs on the road against the Hickory Crawdads on Wednesday, before returning to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium for games two and (if necessary) three on Friday and Saturday.
