Pro hockey team to make debut in Delaware next month

HARRINGTON, Del. – There’s some good news for hockey fans! Exactly one month from Wednesday, September 25th, the new pro hockey team Delaware Thunder will be making their debut. On Friday October 25th, the new ice hockey team will officially kick off their 2019-2020 season. Team officials made the announcement back in May that the team would be playing Inside the Delaware State Fair Center Ice Area. The team is bringing in players from across the country to play this season. And while team officials tell 47 ABC that they’ve still got some to dos to check off their list before the big day, they’re looking forward to all the excitement this new team will bring to Delaware.

“It’s been a challenge in many areas but at the end of the day when that puck drops on October 25 for opening night it’s going to be a real pleasure to see the team on the ice. We’re just really excited to bring pro hockey To the region, to the Peninsula and I think the fans are going to be very happy with the brand of hockey that we’re bringing,” said President and General Manger for the Delaware Thunder, Charlie Pens.
