Pittsville Volunteer Fire Dept. hosts car show fundraiser
PITTSVILLE, Md. – The Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department hosted a car show fundraiser on Sunday for the first time ever, and it was all for a good cause.
The event is an opportunity for people to go outside and enjoy the different rides on display.
The ultimate goal of the event is to help raise money for things like new firefighter gear and maintenance.
People we spoke to say these kinds of events make a big impact on the future of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department.
“The fire company has so many things, regulations that they have to do or equipment, it has to be tested and checked at certain times,” said Allan Richardson, the chairman for the car show.
“All that stuff cost a lot of money,” said Richardson.
Richardson says the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department is looking forward to making the car show an annual event for the community.
