New mural added to Downtown Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – A ton of new art has been popping up lately in Downtown Salisbury, and now one mural is adding to that creativity.

Brandon Bell and Deserea Martin have been working on a mural on the side of the Delmarva Veteran Builder’s for a few weeks now.

They say they started the mural after the building’s owner asked them to paint it, and said they could choose to paint whatever they wanted.

The pair decided to design something that, they say, represents freedom and belief, two things they say are important to the community, but also to them personally.

“The little girl that’s in the image is actually our daughter, and so she’s very into being able to be free and believe in what she already knows to be true,” Martin said.

Bell and Martin tell 47 ABC that in a few weeks they’ll invite community members to come help a portion of the mural so that it can be a work of art from not just them, but the entire Delmarva community.
