New construction planned for Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. – Millsboro is looking to add a new police department and town hall.

Officials say their plan is to build a new town hall next to the current police department on Main Street.

According to the Millsboro Police Chief Brian Calloway, the police department would then move to where town hall is currently located.

It is a plan he says he hopes will happen because of the growing population in the area and a significant lack of space in the police department.

“Now as our needs have changed and our town has changed, we’re finding that we need to make sure that we’re adapting to those,” said Calloway.

“So, it’s very critical for us and again also for town hall,” said Calloway.

Millsboro town officials aim to start construction within the next year, but those plans could change because of budget constraints.
