Milford man charged following crash

MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man is facing multiple charges in connection to a vehicle crash that happened last month.

According to police, shortly after midnight on August 11th, officers responded to Silicato Parkway for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Further investigation revealed that a motorcycle veered off the roadway and hit a curb, injuring both occupants.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as 29-year-old Kyle Strickland, and investigation revealed that he was operating the motorcycle while impaired. He also reportedly left the scene of the accident and did not call for medical assistance for his passenger, nor did he have a valid license.

A warrant was obtained for Strickland’s arrest, and on Monday he was officially charged with first degree vehicular assault, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury, driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license, failure to have insurance identification, operation of an unregistered motor vehicle, fictitious registration, failure to transfer title and registration, inattentive driving, two counts of operating a motorcycle without a helmet and/or glasses, and no motorcycle license.

Strickland was later released on his own recognizance and will appear in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
