Humane Society hosts 25th annual Paws Walk

SALISBURY, Md. – Paws were out and about on Saturday at the Humane Society of Wicomio County, and all for a good cause.

The society hosted their 25th annual Paws Walk for the animals. The morning started with a walk, and people were encouraged to either volunteer to walk shelter dogs or bring their own pups to walk alongside the other dogs.

After the walk, participants were invited to the parking lot for food, music, tons of games, and more time to hangout with the furry friends.

And while the day was all about fun, organizers tell 47 ABC that this day is necessary for the shelter.

“We are nonprofit so we rely on fundraisers, donations, grants, things like that to keep going and keep the shelter running, and keep our dogs and cats happy and healthy,” Emily Cyrus, the events coordinator, said.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the adoptable animals is always welcome to contact the Humane Society.
