General Mills recalls flour products due to E. coli risk

WASHINGTON – General Mills has announced a voluntary recall of five-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached All Purpose Flour due to the potential presence of E. coli O26.

The company says the problem was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product. This recall has been issued as a precautionary measure, as General Mills has not received any direct reports of confirmed illnesses related to this product.

The products subject to recall have a “better if used by” date of September 6 2020. This recall only affects this one date of the five-pound bags. All other types of Gold Medal Flour are not affected by this recall.

Consumers should check their pantries and dispose of the product affected by this recall.
