Folk Festival coming to a close

SALISBURY, Md. – If you’ve been to Downtown Salisbury at all this weekend, you’ve seen the crowds, heard the music, and probably tasted the food. But sadly, the Folk Festival came to an end on Sunday.

The festival kicked off on Friday and drew major crowds the entire weekend. Some visitors tell 47 ABC they’ve made this an annual tradition, some tell us they’ve come from different states, and some tell us they live right here in Salisbury and this is their favorite event of the year.
No matter what reason people came out, officials tell 47 ABC the festival is all about showing off all that Salisbury has to offer.

“I think what this is, what this represents, is showing other people outside of Salisbury, hey, this is a place that welcomes you, has a good time, can be a place with a high quality of life, and what it says to the locals is, you deserve the best, you deserve the very best,” Mayor Jake Day said.

Mayor Day also tells 47 ABC that preliminary numbers show at least double the size of last year’s crowd.
