Dennis lifts Gulls to late win over Hopkins

SALISBURY, Md.- The number four ranked Salisbury University field hockey team defeated eighth ranked Johns Hopkins 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Sea Gull Stadium.

Salisbury took a lead just two minutes into the contest, with Arielle Johnston pushing in the first score. For the next 37 minutes, the teams battled back and forth with the Gulls still ahead 1-0. Hopkins would tie the game late in the third quarter, when Sarah Matyas lifted a shot off a penalty corner to deadlock the score at 1-1

Salisbury would come thru late in the fourth, with just over two minutes left, Camryn Dennis (Polytech HS) was able to put home what would be the game-winning goal off a corner.

The Gulls (7-0) will travel to TCNJ on Saturday to take on the fifth ranked Lions, game time is set for 1 pm.
