Community Wellness is bringing medical cannabis awareness to local minorities

Today on Good Morning Delmarva, our very own Erica Murphy was joined on the desk by Community Wellness LLC.’s CEO Jasmine Sessoms. If you are curious, Community Wellness LLC. are a group of diverse experts in the areas of strategy development, pharmaceutical research, and medical cannabis growth.

Jasmine tells Erica that they are trying to change the face of medical marijuana. She says there have been barriers for minorities in the medical marijuana community six or seven years ago. Her company is trying to create more opportunities, more ownership, and enter the cannabis business as a minority in the country.

Community Wellness has established their operations in Princess Anne, Maryland. As part of the business plan, 100% of their entry level staff are minorities, while 83% & 90% respectively of the entire facility staff of the cultivation and processing operations are Maryland residents from within a 30-minute drive of the facility.

Community aims to have a significant impact on job creation and economic improvement in the community, with goals to become a top employer in Somerset County within five years.

Jasmine tells Erica that they are dedicated to moving the needle and removing the barriers for people of color due to the them constantly being penalized for marijuana distribution.
