Beaver Run construction plans presented to Board of Education

SALISBURY, Md. – Plans are being finalized for a new school in Wicomico County that, officials say, is desperately needed.

The Wicomico County Board of Education met with the county this morning to share their plans for the new Beaver Run Elementary School.

The new building would replace the current school, which officials say is old, and run down.

If the plans are approved by the county, they will then be presented to the state for approval.

And while students could soon be saying goodbye to the old Beaver Run Elementary, school officials tell 47 ABC they’ll have much more to look forward to.

“With this new school we’re going to have kids that are going to be able to take advantage of new instruction areas, we have bigger cafeteria, bigger gymnasium, we have community wellness spaces in there,” Paul Butler, Director of Communications for Wicomico Public Schools, said.

If plans are approved and all stays on schedule, the new building will be up and running by 2022.
