Town of Wyoming celebrates 29th Annual Peach Festival

WYOMING, Del. – Hundreds of people in the First State gathered outside for the Town of Wyoming’s 29th Annual Peach Festival.

The event hosted on Camden-Wyoming Avenue is a chance for people to celebrate the rich history of agriculture in Delaware and peaches have played a significant role.

So, visitors enjoyed all sorts of peach desserts and live music.

Some of the proceeds collected at the event help bring new growth for the town.

Delaware Governor John Carney says this festival is also a chance to show support to small town living.

“Delaware used to produce a lot of peaches, not so much today as before, but it really is a celebration of Delaware agriculture and it’s a celebration of small towns in our state,” said Carney.

Proceeds collected at the festival in recent years has helped with things like buying new flag poles as well as plantings at the town’s park.
